Review du Dok' d'artbook passion

Ca y est, le 7éme opus de Star Wars est sortie au ciné.

Ce premier film « made in Disney / Lucasfilm » de la saga spatiale la plus célèbre de l’histoire de cinéma a, pour moi, tenu ses promesses avec un retour aux sources aussi bien dans le visuel que dans le scénario, certes sans prise de risque, et son lot de nouveaux héros et vilains qui annoncent de très bonnes choses pour l’avenir de la franchise…

Un film comme celui-là ne pouvait que nous amener de la littérature intéressante. C’est l’éditeur Huginn & Muninn qu’on ne présente plus qui nous propose ce premier livre en français et pas n’importe lequel puisqu’il s’agit d’un « Tout l’art »…

Construit de façon chronologique ce qui est très malin pour bien comprendre les différents stades de conception en fonction de l’avancement du projet et des choix scénaristiques, cette ouvrage de plus de 250 pages de croquis, de peintures et autres recherches graphiques nous raconte pas à pas la création de ce nouvel épisode tant attendu.

JJ Abrams s’est entouré de grands artistes avec à leur tête les chefs décorateurs Rick Carter (Jurassic Park, Avatar) et Darren Gilford (TRON : L'Héritage, Oblivion), ainsi que le directeur artistique Doug Chiang, un habitué de Star Wars (Episodes 1 & 2) qui ont su amener de nombreuses idées nouvelles tout en s'inspirant des légendaires dessinateurs Ralph McQuarrie et Joe Johnston.
